Description

Creation of a website for a sports league (non-profit organization).

The Sherbrooke Roller Derby League (LRDS), a non-profit organization founded in 2014, previously lacked a centralized web presence (apart from its Facebook page). Its information—history, values, membership process, costs, and ways to get involved—was scattered across Facebook, PDF documents, and informal exchanges, making it difficult to access for both new members and the wider community.

The mandate

  • Design and write a comprehensive website that centralizes all relevant league information in one place, while increasing its visibility and accessibility for prospective players, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators.

  • Showcase the team both during its sporting performances and at the events it participates in.

The visual identity (logo, colors, typography) was provided by the league.

What has been done

  • Complete website architecture
  • Separate forms compliant with Law 25 (for beginner and experienced players, volunteers, referees, NSOs, sponsors, and vendors), all centralized in one place to facilitate internal management
  • Integration of an online store and a donation/ticketing system (via Zeffy)
  • A consistent brand voice across all content, respecting the league’s DIY, inclusive, and slightly playful tone

The result

A unique website that now brings together everything you need to know about the LRDS, allowing the league to gain visibility and efficiency—whether it’s for recruiting new players, managing sponsorships, or simply answering frequently asked questions—without relying solely on social media or word-of-mouth. It also showcases photos of the team from its games and other events.
